At Dassault Systèmes, enabling businesses and people to harmonize product, nature and life has been our mission. It is core to our business. Through the creation of the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab, innovators all over the world are invited to join us in this mission. The open innovation laboratory, the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab embraces the concept of the social enterprise and draws upon our long history of expertise in virtual technologies to open new perspectives of innovation for a more sustainable world. The 3DEXPERIENCE Lab shapes a new framework of open innovation that merges collective intelligence with a cross-collaborative approach to foster entrepreneurship and bring new experiences to life, as well as to strengthen society´s future of creation.

Our goal is to build a community of intelligent, creative and passionate people, focused on positively impacting society, through the creation of disruptive, groundbreaking projects. Dassault Systèmes is committed to helping them bring those projects to life, with the hopes of unleashing sustainable progress for tomorrow's world.
An Accelerator Program for Startups
As part of the overall 3DEXPERIENCE Lab initiative, Dassault Systèmes´ accelerator program for startups will help facilitate and nurture disruptive product innovation. Along with other qualification criteria, program participants must have legal startup status. Their physical products must be able to be developed using 3D technologies and must address at least one of the following five themes: City, Life, Lifestyle, Ideation and Fablab. Throughout the program, selected startups will have access to Dassault Systèmes´ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, technical skills and mentoring - the same content, technology, applications and expertise that have transformed the design, engineering and manufacturing of most of the products society relies on today. In addition, Dassault Systèmes´ worldwide ecosystem will help accelerate the startups´ product launches and international presence.
The unique market positioning of the 3DEXPERIENCELab is also reflected in the possibility of giving these startups access to the networks and connections within Dassault Systèmes’ extended ecosystem at an international level.
Want to dive into our 3DEXPERIENCE Lab world?
In France
The Velizy 3DEXPERIENCE Lab was set up in November 2015 at the Dassault Systèmes’ headquarter where 4000 employees are located in this campus.
In the US
The Boston 3DEXPERIENCE Lab was set up in May 2017 with collaboration from MIT’s Center of Bits and Atoms, and Fab Foundation, connecting it to the distributed network of over 1000 active Fab Labs across the globe.
In India
The Pune 3DEXPERIENCE Lab was set up in September 2018. Based in Dassault Systèmes’ R&D premises in Hinjewadi, Pune and with the aim of accelerating and supporting the startup ecosystem for new product innovations.
In Munich
The Munich 3DEXPERIENCE Lab was set up in September 2022.
Located at the 3DEXCITE offices, the creativity is at the heart of the space with the aim of accelerating disruptive startups, exchanging between industry and community, exploring new ways of working and starting new ideas and resonance.

Is the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab a new initiative of Dassault Systèmes?
Yes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab is a new initiative of Dassault Systèmes. But, the company has a long standing history in supporting innovation with leading 3D virtual technologies. Combining existing initiatives that yielded such disruptive projects such as the Living heart, BioIntelligence, and Rennes Metropolis and establishing the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab was a natural evolution. With one global lab, Dassault Systèmes can focus its efforts and enable innovators everywhere to look at the world from a new perspective.

What kinds of projects will be considered for the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab?
Every project must have the following criteria, they must:
- all upon the mass and collective intelligence
- be a breakthrough/disruptive innovation in terms of products or services and
- have an impact on society

Is the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab only a startup incubator?
No, the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab is more than just a startup incubator. The 3DEXPERIENCE Lab is an open innovation laboratory aimed at transforming society collaboratively and socially. However, as part of the overall initiative, Dassault Systèmes has also launched a specific accelerator program for startups that will help facilitate and nurture disruptive product innovation. Each project may have a startup incubated by the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab, but it is not essential. Thus, a project may also exist without having a startup (ie. The Open Source Drones project).
Startup having a breakthrough idea falling within the scope of the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab can submit a new project. Thus, the startup incubator is an important component of the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab. -
