The satellite market has been disrupted by the miniaturization of the technology. Lots of small satellites have been created and they aim to provide data for Earth observation, surveillance, telecommunications, smart cities, connectivity, meteorology, emergency responses, ... These satellites are usually in the range of 10-250 kg and need a precise orbit to bet disposed in constellation.
How can we proceed considering that the current launchers available (like Ariane 5 or Falcon 9) are not dimensioned nor optimized to serve this new market?join the community
Zero 2 Infinity is building Bloostar, a low cost, environmentally friendly and service oriented launcher for small satellites. Assisted by a stratospheric balloon, Bloostar slowly elevates to the stratosphere and is then ignited in a quasi-vacuum environment. It needs less infrastructure, simpler engines and generates less stress on the satellite than traditional launcher. It’s highly performing and geared to enable the flourishing New Space market.
Zero 2 Infinity splits the ascent to Space in two phases: the first one aims to go through the densest parts of the atmosphere, the second aims to gain speed in the near-vacuum environment. Following the idea, Bloostar flies to 20 km of altitude thanks to a balloon, Bloostar ignites its engines and can gain velocity and reach orbit with less constraint than a traditional rocket.
Bloostar is NOT just a rocket brought at a higher altitude. It is the first launcher fully designed to take advantage from a stratospheric (=quasi-vacuum) ignition.
The main added values of this solution are the following:
GOAL 9 : Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Zero 2 Infinity builds resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. The idea behind Bloostar, an environmentally friendly launcher, is to lower the price of launching satellites to Space and to respond to this new market of small satellites.
Zero 2 Infinity is being involved in the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab program to adopt the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the Cloud. For Design, Simulation and Systems solutions through SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, SIMULIA and others to improve Bloostar’s design, run accurate simulations, generate performance tests, and optimize Z2I electronics solutions. Moreover, the use of Generative Shape Design will support one of Bloostar's main challenges: mass optimization.
Bloostar has a simpler design than any existing launcher. Therefore, its development challenges lie in using this advantage and optimizing its creation from all levels.
Bloostar design fits within a large eco-system of partners, suppliers and innovators that benefits from bringing their equipment and technology to Space. The Zero 2 Infinity team is working with suppliers across the globe, from the Space and non-Space industries. Adopting a spiral development strategy and paving a new way to approach Space transportation are parts of Z2I’s vision.
Apply innovative solutions and engineering across the project. During the design, the preparation and the execution of the flight campaign.
The construction industry needs a digital revolution. Even though it is the world´s biggest employer, the industry has been posting profitability losses for over three decades.
The race is on to innovate to develop new sources of energy in order to help fight climate change. Marine energies are emerging as a credible means for electricity generation from non-carbon sources. With its expansive coastlines, France, has very high marine energy production potential, and thus has the opportunity to race ahead in this sector.
In 2017, the market of professional drones is projected to increase to 3,7 billion of euros (Gartner source). Services associated to drones grow up and the autonomy of the machines is optimized. From design offices to operating departments, what are the appropriate devices for collecting data?
Urbanisation, Digital Transformation, Climate Change are the key challenges now. On Transportation and Mobility, the current paradigm is : one size fits for all. At XYT, we do not sell cars, we deliver tailored mobility solutions for our clients’ business operations, to maximize value creation in a better future.
According to the World Health Organization, 75 million of people need a wheelchairs in the world. But the common wheelchair is an obsolete technology. Many situations, both professional and personal, call for an adapted system:
While farming today requires a large investment in machinery, it generates relatively low revenue –; and accommodating ecology demands asks farmers to invest more time and take more risk. Using robotics could help farmers with low value-added, time-consuming work, reducing costs and helping mitigate risk.
Earth is warming up, natural disasters are more frequent, and citizens of the world are slowly but steadily inching towards investing in the well-being of their future generations to come. The share of renewable energy of total energy consumption has increased from 16.6% in 2010 to 17.5% in 2016.
Conventional H2 Logistics (Gas/Liquid) essentially “Fights the Physics” of Hydrogen, paying a massive price in high operating/safety costs and requiring massive infrastructure deployment in every segment of the supply chain. As the world looks on to Hydrogen to play a key role in decarbonizing the planet, the supply chain WIL
